Breaking free

I am at the Edgewater Gallery in Fort Bragg for the early shift today, ending at 1:30. At that time I will have loaded up the art from my last display here, and will be heading to San Francisco to visit with my little dog Toodles and my good friend Jane for a couple of days.   Jane and I only get together when I pass through San Francisco and she has asked me several times to come just to visit with her. This is the only chance I will have had to do that in the past five years.

Wednesday on my way back to Mendocino, I will detour through Berkeley and drop off two paintings to a wonderful collector of mine.   He emailed me last week and said he would like to buy this painting and one other. Printemps.

Now to figure out how to get the pic uploaded to this blog..... Bear with me!!!image1.JPG

Very exciting news to begin 2016.  I've closed the Watertower Gallery but it will be open until February 10 (times posted on the doors) by Happy Hyder, my happy housesitter!  Happy is an artist, photographer, writer from San Francisco, and she'll be hanging out with Cowboy Fog while I'm snorkeling and teaching art on the Island of Roatan, Honduras!

This upcoming trip is a time of reincarnation for me, or at least reconfiguration, while I repurpose the next 30 years and figure out with my bff Christine Erickson, from Portsmouth, NH.

We decided on Roatan because it's got the #2 Barrier Reef in the world and I can snorkel as my shoulder mends from Rotator Cuff Surgery on October 3 at Stanford.  I'm doing much better this week, thanks, and look forward to weightlessly ogling the little fishes and crustaceons who inhabit the reef that I can paddle around looking at without exceeding my limitations, but continuing to expand my reach and flexibility.

I'll be teaching through a Roatan Art Gallery and hope to do some volunteer teaching during our five weeks in the tropics.  We're currently undergoing Typhoid series and have already had HEP A&B.  I'm not having Malaria shots, and trust that I'll be fine.  I'm up to date on Tetanus, measles, etc.  Good thing!  I got a flu shot in the bum the Monday before last Friday morning when I woke with a terrible sore throat that put me out for three days.  But I'm ok now and will be totally ok by Jan 4 when we leave!

I'm flying out of Sacramento and my dear friend artist Marti Walker will be guarding my vehicle in her enclosed garden!  Can't wait to hit the Friendly Skies!

Stay tuned for more story and lots of sketches!
