I'm starting to get alot done in preparation to leave. Yesterday I met up with Iris who agreed to stay here several day/nights while I'm gone, and that's a good thing. Then she helped me tear out the wall-to-wall carpeting in CoCo (my rv) and it was great to have her help. Then while we were rippin' it out, another friend dropped by and offered to cart away the carpet scraps, staples and all! Yippee!
My plan is to paint the floor of CoCo in some trompe l'oeil manner... not sure yet... terra cotta pavers? flagstone? something that I can do in a day and have dry by the next day because it's time to fix up, pack up and get organized!
I had my painting of 10-mile Mist accepted into the Mendocino art Center member's show and the reception is Saturday night, January 8. That's a good thing!
Today I bought some pepper spray. Since I don't care if Protestants approach me (WASP spray was to repel them) I hope I don't have to use this or any form of self-preservation, but I'm happy to be a little prepared. Wouldn't wanna meet up with that Booger Man.
I plan to get a full tank of gas tomorrow morning in the rv since gas prices seem to be rising about $.03 per day. By the 15th, gas here will be well above today's price of $3.19. Yikes!
Wasp spray for self defense is a bad idea. Stick with the Pepper Spray. Wasp spray is unproven and has never been tested on humans. Wasp Spray will NOT work on those who cannot feel pain i.e. drugs or alcohol. Pepper Spray is an inflammatory which will cause the eyes to slam shut no matter the situation. That’s why over 40,000 law enforcement agencies carry it nationwide and even the smallest canisters will fire 10 ft while the larger will canisters will fire 25 to 30 ft.
