Monday 1/24/11 Scottsdale

Went to the Scottsdale Celebration for the Arts yesterday and think I might like to try to do this next year.  It's a 3-MONTH show and the artist is expected to be there every day WORKING!, but the buyers and opportunities are incredible.  John Hanes knows all about this, and I actually met one of his friends who had just spoken to John about having a sale in Boonville, so maybe the economy IS picking up.  I'd like to hear about a sale from MY gallery too!

I'm staying with Karen Budan and her husband Bob in their beautiful home in NW Scottsdale.  Karen is the president of the AZ Pastel Society and isn't "retired" at all!  We met when I was in Sedona a year ago and stayed in touch.  What a wonderful still-life artist she is and a great friend!  I'm happy to be with these nice people.

Off to Sedona in a few hours.  I look forward to the beautiful drive and will check the weather report so I'll be dressed for the temperature, and not say, jump out of CoCo in a sleeveless top and no socks when it's 40 degrees!  Might be the Mendocino style, but hey, I like to be comfy!
