Jan 25 Sedona

It's kinda chilly here, but it's beautiful and clear.  I drove in from Cottonwood, or Cornville, actually, and was a few minutes late for my 9 a.m. class.  Michael and his wife Trina were there and we talked about the business of art for a bit before I loaded my all-too-cumbersome supplies into his Subaru and we headed out to paint this:

from this.

It's a 9x12.  I also spent about an hour and 10 minutes on another piece but didn't remember to take any photos of it.  Oak Creek, some red rocks, you'll have to see it in my gallery next month, I guess!

Then we went back to Michael Chesley Johnson's Pumphouse Studio in the Creekside Plaza building where I'd parked off the paved lot in a gravelly spot under a big cottonwood tree.  I'd placed a large rock under my front tire to prevent rolling, and had noticed another rock when I pulled in.  After our painting day was finished, I returned to CoCo and moved the big rock, and the smaller rock was sort of between the two left rear tires and I figured I'd just roll over it and be off.

Well, just my luck, this rock STUCK between the two tires, and when I rolled onto the paved lot, I though I might have gotten a flat THUD THUD THUD so I stopped, saw the rock firmly wedged between the two tires and called AAA.  Sheesh.  About an hour later this guy came in this truck and got this rock out by first trying to pry it out and being unsuccessful, then letting the air out of the outside tire, moving the rock, then filling up the tire again with the correct pressure of air.  I suggested he do that when he first arrived.  :0b

Then I had to go spend a bundle at the art supply store because I was unable to find the second bundle of six 9x12 canvases that I had prepared before I left home.  They must be still in my house or office or up in the studio.  So, at least I'll have them when I return!  I have work to do now... have to cut the new pages to 9x12, can get 4 to a sheet, and then affix them to the 9x12 matboard backing boards I also bought at the art supply store.  It's getting dark.  My hostess with the mostest is out at a meeting so I'll make a big salad for our dinner.

Hope tomorrow I can paint a really great piece to show on my blog here!  Thanks for reading!  All for now! xoxo suzi
